Malaya Command Head Quarters (MCHQ) – Fort Canning

February 1, 1942February 5, 2017

1st February 1942:

To Fort Canning to See Major Anderson (D.A.G.) who gave Pollock and Richardson letters to give to F.M.S.V.F. regarding their discharge.

This was effected immediately and they are now almost in the Intelligence Corps.

They met a colleague who predicted the Fall of Singapore in two weeks. Subsequent events proved right.

2nd February 1942:

Richardson and Pollock both commissioned today as 2nd Lieutenants with the Intelligence Corps.

Completed formalities with Medical Exam and wandered around HQ to sign various papers. Richardson offered commission in RAFVR, but cannot take it up now.

Richardson posted to General Staff Intelligence Headquarters Military Command, ‘G’ Ops HQMC. Presume Walter Pollock posted here too.
