Singapore Causeway (31/1/42)

January 31, 1942February 5, 2017

Stragglers continue to arrive from the Mainland. Richardson went to RAF HQ and saw Colonel Franklin at 0830hrs. Richardson said that there was “nothing doing for me in Tech. Branch, but can drive a lorry.”

Very disappointing, but learned that Brigadier Moir will not release Volunteers for RAFVR. They are wanted for other jobs, for example Beach Defence, etc.

Saw Dalley ( S.S.Police) re Dalforce. Noone, Colin Marshall, Jim Hyslop at alii in it. re Commission. This is now a Chinese (untrained) communist group army.

Considering taking a commission with Dalforce. Chinese army largely untrained. Curfew imposed from 2100hrs through to 0630hrs.
