December 30, 1941December 30, 2016

The leaflet said:

“All of you be prepared for our coming. We Japanese will definitely treat you well. Furthermore, may you all live long and that will be our responsibility. Why are you not coming? Have you not already suffered brother?”

At 18oohrs Lt Nunnely’s party returned having accounted for several Japanese caught in ambush whilst bathing.

An hour afterwards, 3 ORs of the East Surreys were brought in by LUMUT patrols. These men had escaped ALOR STAR via PENANG.

Supply lorries again arrived in the night, were loaded and despatched.
