Prai, Penang

December 14, 1941December 13, 2016

With Allied forces in full retreat on the mainland following the disastrous battle of Jitra, there was a need for troops. The Independent Company left Penang Island by minesweepers at night for Prai. Georgetown was an awe-inspiring sight with great fires raging through the length and breadth of the Chinese quarter.
